Om, victory to Jagdish — the Lord of the universe — Hari, the one who takes sorrow away. Master, glory to you, ruler of all that exists. The troubles of those who are devoted to you, you lift away in a single instant. This is the opening refrain, returned to after every verse.
जो ध्यावै फल पावै, दुःख विनसे मन का | सुख सम्पति घर आवे, कष्ट मिटे तन का || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे ।
Jo dhyaavai phal paavai, dukh vinse man ka | Sukh sampati ghar aave, kasht mite tan ka || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
Whoever holds you in meditation receives the fruit of it, and the grief carried in the mind dissolves. Happiness and abundance come to rest in the home, and the body's afflictions fall away. The promise is simple: turning the mind toward God changes both the inner and the outer life.
मात-पिता तुम मेरे, शरण गहूं किसकी | तुम बिन और न दूजा, आस करूं मैं जिसकी || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे ।
Maat-pita tum mere, sharan gahoon kiski | Tum bin aur na dooja, aas karoon main jiski || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
You are my mother and my father — whose shelter should I seek if not yours? There is no second refuge, no one else in whom I could place my hope. The verse leans on the most intimate human bond to say that God is not merely a protector but a parent.
तुम पूरण परमात्मा, तुम अन्तर्यामी | पारब्रह्म परमेश्वर, तुम सब के स्वामी || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे ।
Tum pooran Parmaatma, tum antaryaami | Paarbrahm Parmeshwar, tum sab ke Swami || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
You are the complete Supreme Being, whole and lacking nothing, and you are Antaryami — the one who dwells within and knows every heart from the inside. You are Parabrahman, the absolute beyond all form, and Parameshwar, the highest Lord. You are master of all, without exception.
तुम करुणा के सागर, तुम पालनकर्ता| मैं मूरख खल कामी, कृपा करो भर्ता || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे ।
Tum karuna ke saagar, tum paalankarta | Main moorakh khal kaami, kripa karo bharta || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
You are an ocean of compassion, and you are the sustainer who nourishes every creature. I am a fool, wicked, and driven by appetite — yet still, show me your grace, O Bharta, my supporter and provider. The singer places his own unworthiness directly against the vastness of divine mercy.
तुम हो एक अगोचर, सबके प्राणपति | किस विधि मिलूं दयामय, तुमको मैं कुमति || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे।
Tum ho ek agochar, sabke praanpati | Kis vidhi miloon dayaamay, tumko main kumati || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
You are the One, unreachable by the senses — agochar, not to be seen or grasped by eye or mind. You are the very life-breath and lord of all beings. By what means could I, dull-witted and of poor understanding, ever come to meet you, O merciful one?
दीनबन्धु दुःखहर्ता, तुम रक्षक मेरे | अपने हाथ उठाओ, द्वार पड़ा तेरे || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे।
Deenbandhu dukhharta, tum rakshak mere | Apne haath uthaao, dwaar pada tere || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
Dinabandhu — friend of the poor and the helpless — and Dukhaharta, remover of sorrow: you are my protector. Reach out your hand and raise me up. I have fallen at your door and lie there, with nowhere else to go.
विषय-विकार मिटाओ, पाप हरो देवा | श्रद्धा भक्ति बढ़ाओ, सन्तन की सेवा || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे
Vishay-vikaar mitaao, paap haro deva | Shraddha bhakti badhaao, santan ki seva || Om jai Jagdeesh hare
Wipe out my craving for sense-objects and the corruptions they breed; wash away my sins, O Lord. Let faith and devotion grow in me instead. And grant me the chance to serve the saints — the company of the holy being itself a means of purification.
तन मन धन तेरा, स्वामी सब कुछ है तेरा | तेरा तुझ को अर्पण, क्या लागे मेरा || ॐ जय जगदीश हरे ।
Tan man dhan tera, Swami sab kuchh hai tera | Tera tujh ko arpan, kya laage mera || Om jai Jagdeesh hare |
Body, mind, and wealth — all of it is yours, Master; everything I have is yours already. So what I offer you is only your own, given back to you. Nothing in the offering was ever mine to give.
श्री जगदीश जी की आरती, जो कोई नर गावे | कहत शिवानन्द स्वामी सुख सम्पति पावे ||
Shri Jagdeesh ji ki aarti, jo koi nar gaave | Kahat Shivanand Swami sukh sampati paave ||
